International soccer star Lionel Messi purchased a home in the Fort Lauderdale gated community of Bay Colony. Messi’s search for a local home began when he joined Inter Miami CF earlier this year.

The seller was represented by Jennifer Abbott with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, while Messi and his family were represented by Samuel and Donna Simpkin of Team Simpkin at Compass. The team has served as the exclusive real estate partner of Inter Miami since 2022.

“We are endlessly grateful for the opportunity to work with such amazing clientele and provide premier services across South Florida,” Samuel Simpkin said in a press release. “We believe our extensive market knowledge and keen understanding of our clients’ needs has led us to the successful sale of this property to the Messi family.”

Messi’s $10.75 million mansion spans over 10,500 square feet and includes eight bedrooms, 9.5 bathrooms, a three-car garage and a pool. The property was last seen on the market in May 2022, when the sellers purchased it for $9 million.
