Compass Florida snags top producer Jo-Ann Forster

Industry veteran Jo-Ann Forster has joined Compass Florida’s Coconut Grove office, the company announced.

Specializing in luxury home and condo sales from Pinecrest to Miami Beach, Forster brings her 11-member team that includes her son Brian Shapiro, daughter Lauren Goodkind Allan and sister Sande Forster Keil.

“Jo-Ann is a valued leader in the South Florida Real estate industry,” said Christian Martinez, Regional President of Compass Florida. “She has created a team of experts with incredibly high-level marketing and negotiation skills and has become an incredibly sought-after agent with unmatched results.”

Formerly with ONE Sotheby’s, where she was honored as the top producer company-wide in 2018 and 2017 and awarded No. 2 producer company-wide in 2016, Forster has sold over $2 billion in real estate.

Named realtor of the year by the Miami Association of Realtors, recognized by the Wall Street Journal as one of the top 250 agents in the U.S. by sales volume and named one of the top 100 agents in the nation by Realtor Magazine, Forster has been a featured speaker for the Miami Association of Realtors and other industry groups for the past 25 years, focusing on marketing luxury property and creating success.

“Compass is absolutely redesigning real estate and moving away from traditional methods,” Forster said. “I want to constantly be doing better for my clients, my team and my family, and was blown away by Compass’ services and the dedication of their agents, staff and leadership team. Joining Compass was the natural next step for me and my team in our quest to provide the absolute best results, services and experiences for our clients.”

Michael Patrizio joins Newgard Development Group

International real estate veteran Michael Patrizio has joined Newgard Development Group as senior VP of development, the company announced.

Formerly with Terra Group, where he oversaw the company’s luxury residential projects, Patrizio played an active role in Eighty-Seven Park by Renzo Piano, Park Grove Residences and Mr. C Residences in Coconut Grove, Glass – 120 Ocean on Miami Beach, Grove at Grand Bay, and the luxury single family community Botankio Weston.

Founded by Harvey Hernandez 15 years ago, Newgard is currently co-developing Natiivo Miami, which offers unit ownership with home sharing as a built-in amenity.

“Harvey has built a company that is unmatched in its services and surrounded himself with a solid team of industry veterans,” Patrizio said. “I saw a great opportunity to be involved in the next generation of development with Newgard. Transformational, innovative buildings that incorporate home sharing like Natiivo will be catalysts in the growth of Downtown Miami as well as other cities around the country. I truly believe this platform is the future of real estate development, and I am ecstatic to be a part of the future.”

Prior to his time with Terra Group, Michael served as the CEO of Qatari Diar United Kingdom Ltd. Where he was responsible for a portfolio of landmark properties valued over $18 billion.

“Michael is an international real estate expert with a global perspective,” Hernandez said. “He has a successful reputation internationally and locally of working with reputable developers. This experience has given him a great perspective and we’re thrilled to have him a part of this team and to help lead Natiivo Miami and other exciting projects we have in the pipeline.”
