Miami-Dade property tax deadline approaches

Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser Pedro J. Garcia is urging homeowners to file property tax returns soon amidst the upcoming March 1, 2019 deadline. Garcia is hoping property owners pay special attention to several new or updated tax benefits and deductions available to residents. These benefits include homestead, senior and veterans exemptions, among many others aimed to help reduce property tax liability for certain groups. “We have hosted outreach events throughout Miami-Dade County to better serve our community and provide everyone with better access to discuss exemptions with me and my staff,” Garcia said in the news release. The final event will be held at South Dade Government Center, located at 10710 SW 211th Street, on Saturday, February 23rd, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
