Brickell Flatirons Hires Italian Designer Massimo Iosa Ghini

by Lolita Thomas

CMCThe CMC Group has hired the renowned Italian designer Massimo Iosa Ghini to decorate the interior of the Brickell Flatirons. Iosa Ghini founded Iosa Ghini Associati and the Bolidismo Group in 1985. Iosa Ghini has done designs for commercial, residential, public and cultural spaces. He has done projects in numerous cities: Milan, Rome, New York, Los Angeles, Beijing, Hong Kong and Bahrain.

The designer will incorporate Italian architecture to the building. Some of the plans include large paintings in the lobby and custom-designed furniture by artist Julian Schnabel. The lobby walls will be finished in amber, grey and marble stucco and the finishing touch will feature shading with metal ceiling lamps. The common areas will feature materials such as onyx, marble, ivory, brass, bronze and copper. Developer Ugo Colombo has imported all of the buildings fixtures, cabinets and facets from Italy. Iosa Ghini aims to create a look of elegance and timeliness throughout the building.

“The purpose of our design approach with Brickell Flatiron is to portray the idea of attainable exclusivity and luxury,” Iosa Ghini said. “Every element, including the spaces, objects and fixtures, is designed using sophisticated and rich finishes with raw simple features and high attention to detail, to achieve an exclusive and quality product that’s also accessible.”

Brickell Flatirons has floor plan options of one to five bedrooms, penthouses and duplexes available. Condo sizes range from 6,220 square feet and costs about $750 per square foot. The condominium is 50 percent sold and is set to begin construction this fall.
