Privately marketed listing sells in seven months for $38 million.

Today, June 29, Engel & Völkers Jupiter announced the record-breaking sale of one of the most sought after properties on Jupiter Island. The seller of this property is the late Horst Brandstätter, the sole owner of Germany’s largest toy manufacturer “Geobra Brandstätter.” He is also known for being the creator of the world-famous Playmobil toy figures. The property was sold to Liberty Media Chairman, John Malone for $38 million. This sale marks a new high record for a home on Jupiter Island.

Located on Jupiter Island, a barrier island off Florida’s East Coast, the Ocean-to-Intracoastal property is set on 9.4 acres while spanning 506 feet along the ocean and 513 feet along the Intracoastal Waterway. The contemporary main house is set atop the highest point on Jupiter Island, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, expansive grounds and the Intracoastal Waterway.

One of the property’s noteworthy features is the square, glass-encased living room built on a turntable so it can rotate 360 degrees at the touch of a button, providing views of the sunrise over the ocean and the sunset over the Intracoastal. The property also includes a guesthouse, putting green and private boat dock.

Typically, an estate listing of this size can sit on the market for two to three years. Engel & Völkers Jupiter, which only opened its Jupiter Yacht Club property shop in 2007, has set a new precedent using garnered relationships and exclusive marketing tools resulting in a record-breaking sale in the area.

Located just north of Palm Beach and Miami, Jupiter Island is the southernmost barrier island on Florida’s east coast. Many well-known personalities from the worlds of business, sports and entertainment have taken up refuge here.
