Born in Havana, Cuba, Carlos Garcia moved to Miami with his family when he was five years old. He worked in his family’s business in the electrical industry from a young age, watching the company grow into one of the largest Hispanic family-owned businesses in the eastern United States.
When Garcia decided to get into the real estate industry, Keyes was the only brokerage he really considered joining. “It was the best career move, and continues to be,” he says. “The Pappas family, who has owned Keyes since 1959, treats me like family and gives me the support that every agent would like to have.”
Garcia has been with The Keyes Company for 28 years. In 2004, he was named vice president of the Keyes Sunset Branch.
Garcia was named a member of the Billionaires’ Club by RealTrends.com for surpassing $1 billion in career sales volume over 2,000 transactions. He’s also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals Top 250 Latino Agents and was named one of America’s Most Honored Real Estate Professionals by the American Registry.
So, what’s the secret to Garcia’s success? “Be a good listener,” he says. “Understand the client’s goals and create a plan to execute. Then get the plan done.”
While he doesn’t run a team, Garcia says he does have a team of assistants that make him look good—one being his partner and the mother of his children, Elena Garcia. In 2023, he added a buyers’ agent, Kristin Stroleny, to grow sales and continue to provide a personalized service to his existing customer base and new clientele.
Outside of work, Garcia is proud to have welcomed two more grandchildren into his family.
