Mauricio Ordonez knows there’s a story behind every loan application, and he is ready to listen. As the founder, president and owner of Q Kapital Group, Ordonez primarily assists foreign nationals, harnessing his 22 years of mortgage lending experience to advise clients seeking both residential and commercial loans, as well as those looking to refinance or cash out.
“My goal is to be the No. 1 lender for foreign nationals in the country,” he says, explaining that he and his team lead educational seminars in Latin America about how to obtain mortgage loans and purchase homes in the United States. “Clients say that if they had known me earlier, they would have invested in Miami sooner. They just hadn’t realized that they were able to get a mortgage loan in the U.S.”
Over the past year, Q Kapital Group closed almost $470 million in residential and commercial loans combined. In the past few years, the company has closed over $2 billion and over 1,600 loans, including loans from Latin American, Asian, European, Caribbean and North American buyers.
Prior to moving to Miami and joining the financial services industry, Ordonez was an architect in Colombia and worked for a developer, taking the lead on construction budgets and negotiating with banks.
Ordonez is a member of the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers and prioritizes professional and personal development through mentorship and with educational materials about selling and marketing.
Outside work, Ordonez enjoys watching Formula One and stock car races, as well as soccer. He is an avid traveler and loves spending time with family and friends.
