Nancy Batchelor can close a deal on land or at sea. Since transitioning from a career as a yacht broker 18 years ago, the current senior vice president and Realtor at EWM Realty has helped families, professionals, and international and corporate relocation clients secure homes and condos in Miami Beach, Grove, Coral Gables and Morningside. While Batchelor specializes in waterfront estates and upper-tier residential homes and condos, she maintains her Midwestern values and work ethic. “I’m able to relate to all types of people,” she says, adding that clients appreciate her sensitivity, accessibility and persistence.
Batchelor ranks among the top 1 percent of EWM’s nationwide network and holds a Diamond Status membership to the Chairman’s Club. She credits her team — including four licensed agents, a marketing department and a transaction coordinator — for helping her achieve status as one of Miami’s top agents.
“We are a diverse group of people, and everyone is excellent in their own particular area,” she says. “From staging to marketing and everything in been, we are available to clients and build a relationship with them. Much of our business is by referrals. We are good at being compassionate and listening, and not just seeing it as a transaction.”
In 2017, Batchelor led her team to surpass its previous sales record, earning $112.5 million and ranking No. 6 in sales volume in Miami-Dade County. Three years prior, EWM Miami Beach placed at No. 4 in the Top 50 Women-Led For-Profit Organizations in the state by The Commonwealth Institute South Florida.
Batchelor has a special appreciation for historically significant properties – from modern to mid-century to Mediterranean: “I love the architecture in Miami.” She is especially proud of the luxury portfolio of EWM Miami Beach, the No. 1 firm for condos and homes over $1 million in Miami-Dade County.
On occasion, Batchelor enjoys taking clients out on her Intrepid 35 boat to give them a complete view of these impressive waterfront homes — just one of the many innovative ways in which she showcases her listings.
“Our clients love our creative marketing techniques,” Batchelor says. “We use professional videos, geotargeting, printed mailers and advertisements in major publications, as well as frequent open houses and charity event sponsorships to get the word out.”
An active participant in Miami’s philanthropic community, Batchelor enjoys meeting new people and making connections as a member of La Gorce Country Club, Coral Reef Yacht Club, Ocean Reef Yacht Club, Caribou Club Aspen and the Batchelor Foundation. She also serves on the boards of Fairchild Botanical Gardens and the Adrienne Arsht Foundation. Batchelor loves animals and is an accomplished equestrian, and her horses Clive and Cairo competed in the 2018 Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.
