Miami Beach ranks among the country’s priciest ZIP codes

by Patrick Regan

Miami Beach 33109 is the No. 4 most expensive ZIP code in the country, according to a new PropertyShark report.

Miami Beach’s median home sale price climbed to $5.75 million, putting it behind only Atherton (94027) in San Mateo County, California, where the median sale price is $7.9 million, and Sagaponack (11962) and Water Mill (11976) in the New York Hamptons, where the median sale prices are just below $6 million.

PropertyShark analyzed residential transactions between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30 to determine its list of the most expensive ZIP codes in the country.

“Although Water Mill’s sudden price jump pushed 33109 in Miami Beach down one position [from last year], the exclusive Florida ZIP nevertheless set a new price record at $5.75 million,” the report said. “This also marked the fifth consecutive year of price increases in the ultra-exclusive Fisher Island community.”

Miami Beach was the only Florida ZIP code to make the PropertyShark rankings. California led the way with 80 ZIP codes, followed by 19 in New York, six in New Jersey, five in Massachusetts, four in Connecticut and two in Washington.
