Are you ready to find your niche? Deciding where to market yourself as a professional Realtor can be extremely difficult. There are endless potential leads out there, and if you pursue all of them or the wrong ones, you’ll run out of motivation very quickly. One way to start searching for your niche is by looking inward and identifying your special skills, knowledge and passions. Here are four good ways of identifying your niche:
4. Look in your existing networks – Look at the groups that you belong to in a new way. For example, if you are involved in the PTA Association, use that as an opportunity to reach out to members, staff and parents.
3. Look at your past clientele – Review your past clients to identify patterns. Are your past clients senior citizens, first-time home buyers, relocation, etc.? Your experience with past clients will get you specialized in a particular area that can become your niche.
2. Farming a specific area – Target a certain zip code, community or even building. It is best to know everything about a specific area than to know a little about many areas. Get to know the owners firsthand. For example, knowing every apartment owner of a building, knowing their children’s name or dog’s eye color will get them to know you and eventually trust you.
1. What is your passion – What do you love? For some it may be golf. Therefore, you can specialize in finding sellers and buyers on golf courses. For others it may be sports. Therefore, you can specialize in working with athletes. Do what you love and it won’t feel like work.
