Philip Freedman joined Compass from Douglas Elliman as senior managing director of sales for the future Raleigh Rosewood Residences Miami Beach.
Developed by Nahla Capital, the luxury branded condominium tower will bring about the redevelopment of the storied art deco Raleigh Hotel, located on a three-acre site at Collins Avenue and 18th Street in Miami Beach.
In his new role, Freedman will lead the development’s sales strategy, including overseeing the sales team of Miltiadis Kastanis, Pablo Alfaro, Liz Hogan, Ivan Chorney and Michael Martirena, handling global broker outreach, buyer engagement and contract negotiations. He will also be responsible for positioning The Raleigh within the local ultra-luxury marketplace, growing relationships with high-net-worth domestic and international buyers and driving sales from launch through sellout.
“Philip is an accomplished new development sales leader,” Compass Chairman Robert Reffkin said. “His track record of executing high-profile sellouts and his ability to build and lead world-class sales teams make him the ideal person to guide The Raleigh Rosewood Residences Miami Beach. We are proud to welcome him back to Compass in this pivotal leadership role.”
In December 2019, Freedman moved to Douglas Elliman as executive director of sales to oversee the remaining sellout of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Miami Beach. After restructuring the sales team, he helped sell out the remaining residences within 18 months and sold out the property’s 15 waterfront and landside villas in 2021. Beginning in 2022, he directed the launch of The Perigon Miami Beach, which included transactions ranging from $3 million to $52.45 million, with an anticipated $859 million sellout. The project is currently approximately 85% sold.
“Philip has a rare ability to translate visionary developments on a global scale into real market momentum,” said Genghis Hadi, managing principal and co-founder of Nahla Capital. “His experience overseeing landmark developments and cultivating relationships with top-tier buyers worldwide gives The Raleigh an immediate competitive edge. Just as important, he understands the responsibility that comes with reviving an address of this stature.”
