South Florida claims four spots in top 10 priciest U.S. neighborhoods

by John Yellig

From Naples to Miami, South Florida boasts some of the most expensive neighborhoods in the country. In fact, four of the top 10 most expensive communities are located in South Florida, according to a new report.

Using data from Homes.com, American Home Shield analyzed listing prices and home sizes in over 20,000 U.S. neighborhoods. Naples’ Port Royal and Aqualane Shores ranked No. 5 and 6, with homes selling for $3,375 and $3,312 per square foot, respectively.

Miami’s Star, Palm and Hibiscus islands and Palm Beach’s Casa del Largo neighborhood took spots 8 and 10, with homes selling for $2,861 and $2,754 per square foot, respectively.

The top three most expensive neighborhoods in the U.S. were, unsurprisingly, in California, led by South of Market in San Francisco, Northwest Auburn in Placer County and Old Town Carpinteria in Santa Barbara.
