by John Yellig

Miami continues to gain prominence on the world stage as a major destination for international investment, but a new survey by Remitly shows the city is also of keen interest as a place to live. It ranks second only to Dubai as the most desirable place for those outside the United States to move, according to the report.

Remitly, a cross-border money-transfer firm, ranked location desirability based on the global use of the Google search term, “move to [city],” between October 2022 to September 2023. Using all languages, the most searched-for location was considered the top destination for each country.

Dubai was the most-searched-for city in 60 countries, with Miami coming in second as the No. 1 searched-for destination in these 12 countries:

  1. Kazakhstan

  5. Tajikistan
  6. Greece
  7. Belize
  8. Chile
