Florida is one of the best states to live in this year, according to a new report from WalletHub.
The finance website analyzed affordability, economy, education, health, quality of life and safety in every state in the country based on a variety of metrics including housing costs, property taxes, unemployment rates, poverty levels, income growth, job opportunities, public schools, hospital systems, life expectancy, commute times and access to arts and entertainment.
Florida ranked at No. 6, with its largest benefit being the quality of life it offers residents. The state also ranks in a four-way tie for most restaurants per capita with California, New York and Texas. These perks outweigh many of the state’s negatives, including below-average affordability.
The only states ranked higher than Florida on WalletHub’s list were Massachusetts (No. 1), New Jersey (No. 2), New Hampshire (No. 3), New York (No. 4) and Wyoming (No. 5).
