Chicago-based real estate developer and builder Focus is expanding to the Florida real estate market with two luxury developments in the Miami area. Plans include a luxury housing development in Brickell at the site of the former Starlite Motel East.

“We are thrilled to progress our plans and designs in the Southeast region of the United States,” Focus CEO and Founder Tim Anderson said in a press release. “We will continue to dedicate ourselves to creating projects that contribute positively to the communities we serve. Miami’s vibrant metropolis, with its walkable urban cores, offers a dynamic and energetic environment that aligns perfectly with our mission.”

Focus acquired the Starlite Motel East in November 2022 for $28 million. The company also recently secured a second Florida property in downtown St. Petersburg.
