Former NBA and Miami Heat player Carlos Arroyo recently sold his Pinecrest home for $5.05 million.
The home at 5950 SW 104th St. is 6,477 square feet and features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and an outdoor half-court basketball court. Arroyo purchased the property in 2005 for $2.7 million.
The listing agent was Tony Rodriguez-Tellaheche, owner and managing broker of Prestige Realty Group, based in South Miami. Carole Smith with Compass represented the buyer.
“Pinecrest is one of Miami’s most desirable neighborhoods and this transaction, in which the home sold over asking price, is testament to the ongoing demand for single-family home inventory in the area,” Rodriguez-Tellaheche said in a news release.
Arroyo was born in Puerto Rico and attended Florida International University. He competed as a member of the Puerto Rico national basketball team for 15 years and played in the Olympics.
Arroyo played parts of nine seasons in the NBA, including with the Miami Heat from 2009-2011. He also played for Toronto, Denver, Utah, Detroit, Orlando and Boston. Since retiring from basketball, Arroyo has launched a successful career as a reggaeton artist.
