Here’s the church, here’s the steeple…

by Emily Mack

Open the doors, and there are all the prospective buyers! This enchanting Westernville, NY home was restored and rebuilt to pay historic homage to the church it once was. The original site, erected in 1852, was a place of Methodist worship for the small New York hamlet — located right on Main Street. Now, the property is desired for its proximity to Oneida County’s Woods Valley Ski Area and Delta Lake Yacht Club.

While the striking architecture still recalls tradition, the modern interior has ditched the pews for five bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a new, spacious basement. In all, the single-family property has a lot size of 3,439 square feet. And even as careful renovations have transformed the church for present-day, it remains a pride of the Rome historical society.

This real estate gem, located at 9251 Main St., Westernville, NY 13486 is listed by agent Lori Frieden of Coldwell Banker Faith Properties for $700,000. Check out the listing on Special Finds.
