Interior designer Sofia Joelsson joins Douglas Elliman’s Carmenate/Duchon Team

Successful interior designer Sofia Joelsson has joined top-producing Douglas Elliman team Carmenate/Duchon as Realtor Associate.

Joelsson will be based out of the team’s South Beach office, located at the luxury development, GLASS, where she will lead the team’s interior design efforts for all new development projects and residential listings.

Joelsson’s expertise will allow the team to offer exclusive services such as reimagining floorplans and custom design strategies in order to successfully market properties through elevated design schemes and trends.

“We are honored to welcome Sofia to our team,” said Carmenate/Duchon Co-Founder Eloy Carmenate in a press release. “Sofia’s extensive connectivity to a highly-regarded network of a strong trusted client base through her years of interior design will make her a tremendous asset to our team.”

A Swedish native, Joelsson came to the U.S. in 1998 to pursue her passion for interior decorating. She worked with multiple top developers, including David Martin of Terra to reimagine and design floorplans for Park Grove, while also designing an entire floor at GLASS by Rene Gonzales. Working alongside Marcelo Kingston of Multiplan, Joelsson designed the $35 million penthouse at 57 Ocean as well as the 58th-floor penthouse at 1000 Museum. Her extensive network includes completed projects for private aviation companies and residential homes in the Hamptons, New York City and Long Island.

“As an avid real estate investor, I‘m always involved in every aspect of a real estate transaction,” Joelsson said in the press release. “From my experience, I’ve realized there is a demand for agents to provide expert insight on reimagining floorplans, space planning and design to successfully attract buyers to a property. Working on multiple projects with Eloy and Mick, and sharing the same passion for real estate and design, I was immediately drawn to joining their team and being a part of the Douglas Elliman brand.”
