What was your first job in the real estate industry? I spent 7 years in North Florida running different businesses and one day I decided that it was time to take a leap of faith and come back to my family in Miami. I started my career as an investor, and later decided to put my educational background to use and specialize in marketing real estate properties.
Where did you grow up? I am originally from Cuba. I came to Miami about 20 years ago when my parents decided that they needed a chance at a better future for my brother and me.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I love to take my beautiful twin princesses to the playground and watch them run, jump and laugh.
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would love to be able to have lunch with Steven Paul Jobs – I think he was an incredible visionary who never took ‘no’ for an answer and made his own luck by believing in himself.
Where is your favorite place to hang out? I love living, hanging out, and working in Miami. I believe that Miami is not only a location, but a tropical paradise. From its beautiful beaches, water-front real estate, nice restaurants, history, culture, and beautiful residential areas, our city has something for everyone.
What do you love most about the industry? I am passionate about real estate because I believe that where you live is directly correlated to who you are, how you perceive yourself, and who you want to become. My mission is to provide value and help my clients realize that real estate is more than a location, it’s their identity.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am determined to help my clients achieve their real estate goals as quickly as possible, so they can move on and live their lives to the fullest. Being a marketer by trade has really put me in a category of one. I can easily identify the different buyer profiles, and personality traits, and with that information, I am able to use different marketing strategies to find the most opportune buyer for my sellers, and the perfect home for my buyers. I strive to sustain and surpass excellence in service, decision making and performance.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Dealing with part-time or not committed agents. There are always agents who can’t answer their phone 9-5 because they have another job. It makes getting deals done very difficult and is confusing to our clients.
What has been your greatest accomplishment? I am a mom, so definitely having my two amazing princesses. Professionally speaking, my biggest achievement has been being able to inspire my clients. When my clients choose to work with me, they see someone who is family oriented, honest, and willing to go the extra mile to get them great results.
What was the last good book you read? The Millionaire Real Estate Agent by Gary Keller. It helped me put a lot of things into perspective and start thinking about building a stronger team in order to better serve my clients. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to scale up their business.
What is your favorite restaurant? Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar in Miami Lakes.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? The Estates at Acqualina in Sunny Isles. I love the luxury lifestyle and services they offer, plus the many amenities that make everyone feel at home.
What is your favorite city after Miami? New York City because it is one of the world’s leading metropolises for art, finance, fashion, food and theater.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Educate yourself and commit to providing value to your customers. Start building your career with a complete lifestyle and mentality change.
