Famous for its denim, the Italian retail clothing company Diesel hopes to make its name in real estate as well. The company announced Nov. 29 that it has partnered with Bel Invest Group, an international real estate investment company based in Vincenza, Italy, on a new Miami-area project.

The development will be built on a 1-acre lot in the Wynwood neighborhood, with plans calling for 226,000 square feet of residential space (143 units) and approximately 24,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Zyscovich Architects is designing the project, which will reportedly have a “loft-style” design.

Pre-sales will expectedly launch in the first quarter of next year, according to Diesel and Bel Invest. Although Bel Invest currently owns a Miami office, this project is the company’s first in the U.S.

Diesel is not the first fashion company to partner with South Florida developers. Missoni and OKO Group are currently building Missoni Baia in Edgewater. Fendi and the Chateau Group completed Fendi Chateau two years ago.
