Lots of interesting things happened this week in the world of real estate. Notable stories this week include the death of a prominent real estate attorney and Douglas Elliman naming two new executive sales directors.

Real estate attorney found dead – A report from the Miami Herald confirmed the death of prominent Miami real estate attorney Steven Cantor this week. Grace Lopez, chief operating officer of The Cantor Group, told the Herald that “he was a tremendously dynamic person who was wholeheartedly dedicated to his business, family and friends.”

Pre-leasing launches for Midtown Five: According to a release from Magellan Development Group, pre-leasing for Midtown Five, a 400-unit luxury apartment building, is now open.

Douglas Elliman names new executive sales directors – According to a release: Douglas Elliman welcomes Dina Goldentayer and Sladja Stantic as executive directors of luxury sales in Miami Beach, offering the duo flexibility to be on new development while keeping their residential portfolio consisting of $100 million in listings. In their new role, Dina and Sladja will focus on Miami Beach’s growing and in-demand luxury market, in particular in the South of Fifth sector where the team’s new office is based. They are equally present on the Venetian Islands where they have sold 35 homes. Dina and Sladja’s additional home base at Eighty Seven Park’s oceanfront sales center allows them to introduce their client base to the booming new Surfside corridor.

King of Diamonds not a strip club – When businessman and rapper Akinyele Adams first announced plans for his King of Diamonds club in South Beach, Miami Beach Mayor Phillip Levine, understanding it was to be a strip club, said no, citing the City’s Land Development Regulations, Curbed reported. But now Adams is saying the club won’t be a true strip clib, but rather a combination of We Wet Willies, Mango’s and LIV. King of Diamonds is expected to open before next July 4.
