Viewpoints: William Harbour, Broker President, MC2 Realty, Miami

by James McClister

William-Harbour

William Harbour is the broker president of MC2 Realty working in Miami.

Every week, we ask a Miami real estate professional for their thoughts on the top three stories from the week before. This week, we spoke with William Harbour, the broker president of MC2 Realty.

Miami Agent (MA): Real estate is an incredibly personal process, and what works for one person might not necessarily work for another. How does MC2 Realty, as well as you specifically, work to personalize services, if at all?

William Harbour (WH): Our services are completely tailored to ensure the perfect fit for each individual client. Obviously you need to identify the needs of the client, but also we make suggestions that can be beneficial to their overall goal – showing them an opportunity that they might not have otherwise seen. We constantly strive to deliver options. Miami is an exploding and expanding market, and there are plenty of different venues of value to discover.

We have a very strong international division who specializes in purchases with Euro buyers and they offer the most personalized service in our company, ranging from school selections, help with currency conversion, multilingual property management and much more. Our clients are raving about how flexible and creative we are with our business solutions for them and we get a lot of referrals and repeat business form them. And we all know, this is the best advertising!

MA: On LinkedIn, you list one of your specialties as “sustainable living practices.” Could you elaborate on what exactly that entails?

WH: This is something I firmly believe in and strive to promote to my clients. When I am working with a developer, or recommending an architect or contractor for my clients, I always incorporate eco-friendly suggestions and technology in the mix. I believe it is only through sustainable living that we will enhance our lives and our world.

MA: Social media, including sites like Facebook, Twitter and in some respects YouTube, have become incredibly important aspects of real estate. How do you incorporate them into your business, and how, if at all, has it helped?

WH: There is no question how vital these venues have become. We use all forms of social media to promote our business. Our best social venture is our page on Morningside, one of the best historic neighborhoods in Miami – located in the upper East side, where our main office is located. See www.morningside-life.com.

We are getting huge exposure thanks to this page, and have managed to become the real estate company of choice for this niche area. To be honest, what I find most difficult is the amount of data that needs to constantly be fed to keep current as we move so much inventory so quickly, but thankfully we have a fully staffed office and great back up support so I can continue doing what I do best, which is selling real estate.

We also have a very successful blog and a Facebook page with approximately 2000 followers.
