A suburb in Miami wants nothing to do with Kim and Kourtney Kardashian.

By Stephanie Sims

The people have spoken – the residents of a Miami suburb, where Kim and Kourtney Kardashian wanted to live and film their new spin-off reality show, “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami,” have said the reality stars can’t live or film there.

The sisters wanted to lease a home in South Beach, a more trendy and glamorous area, but according to Nation.com, they needed signatures of approval from immediate neighbors of the homes they were looking at, as well as the consent of 90 percent of residents within 500 feet of their main filming location. But their potential neighbors on Sunset Islands, DiLido Island or North Bay Road, their ideal home locations, said no.

A local law states that potential new residents need to get signatures of approval from any neighbors living within 500 feet of the homes they wish to lease.

Guess South Beach doesn’t think living next to the Kardashians is as glamorous as it might sound. Or maybe they want nothing to do with Scott Disick‘s drunken antics. Either way, the people of South Beach have spoken, and the Kardashians have been “banished,” so to speak, 14 miles away to North Beach, where they will be living next to a 7-11, abandoned bank and a few strip clubs.

Maybe that will make for a more interesting season for the show, then…

This story and the residents’ reaction got us thinking, though: do you think living next door to the Kardashians for a season would increase or decrease existing residents’ home values? Or have no affect at all?
