Bayside Rocks Gets Greener

by admin

Bayside Rocks, an annual music and arts festival devoted to raising social awareness, is teaming up with CityGreenLife.com (CGL) this year to make the event “greener” than ever.

CGL will help reduce the festival’s carbon footprint by implementing a composting station, using LED lights to illuminate the main stage, and donating the food vendors’ used oil to a local biodiesel company. The organization will also offer a bike valet service to encourage bicycling to the event, and a skate and BMX area will be open to everyone throughout the day.

Other offerings at the festival will include a local farmers’ market, recycling stations, free yoga demonstrations and a green vendor area specifically for eco-friendly products, services and food.

CGL is also co-sponsoring the Bayside Rocks Environmental Song Competition in support of the cause of clean water. The winner gets to perform their song live on stage at Bayside Rocks.

The festival will feature world music headliners Bunny Wailer, Luciano, Cultura Profetica, the Original Wailers and many others.

“Our ultimate goal is to uplift the spirit and inspire people of every ilk to give of themselves to help make the world a better place in which to live,” said Alfonso D’Niscio Brooks, CEO of Rockaz MVMT, the company producing the festival. “It’s great to have fun, but it’s imperative that we do it in an environmentally responsible way. That’s what my company and this festival is all about.”

The Bayside Rocks Music and Arts Festival will be held Saturday Nov. 19 at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami.
