RE/MAX Executive Realty Co-Owners, Ellen Bithell and Agnes Stalmach, recently contributed $2500 to Kids in Distress (KID), a local organization that seeks to improve the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned children and their families. The money Bithell and Stalmach donated will specifically help support the KID Preschool PLUS Program and the younger children involved in Kids in Distress.

“We’re determined to make a difference in the lives of so many children in southern Florida who are either abused or neglected,” says Patricia Moskol, Kids in Distress special events coordinator. “But, we could not help so many families and children without help from our local community and without the support of generous and giving organizations like RE/MAX Executive Realty. We’re so proud that they chose to give to KID.”

Kids in Distress is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides a wide range of services that focus on child abuse prevention and intervention, family education and support, and family and child healing and growth. During the housing crisis, Bithell says that Kids in Distress also identifies families who are at risk of having their children removed and can offer services including counseling for the parents and children.

“We see families every day who have been affected by the housing crisis and Kids in Distress helps families stay together and manage through a very difficult time,” says Bithell who was recently named the 2011 Director of Florida Realtors. “We hope our contribution will help Kids in Distress continue to provide services to our friends and neighbors and we hope that we can also raise awareness for this organization and their incredible efforts.”

In the past, RE/MAX Executive Realty has also sponsored Snowfest which collects toys for local children and the office of real estate agents and its owners teamed with The Junior Chamber of Commerce, or Jaycees, to collect school supplies for needy kids.
