Fort Lauderdale
Construction is underway at the W Fort Lauderdale Hotel & Residences with the topping off of its exterior shell earlier this month. The property’s opening date is anticipated for the first quarter of 2008.
Located on a four-and-one-half-acre site on Fort Lauderdale Beach and designed by Adache Group Architects, this $220-million development by the DYL Group will consist of two 23-story towers. The West Tower provides 171 one- and two-bedroom residences. These are fully furnished, down to the 250-thread-count linens and kitchen accessories. The East Tower is a 346-room hotel. Both the hotel and residences will offer views of the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway, as well as downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Residences offer nine-foot ceilings in most living areas and sliding glass doors onto balconies. Kitchens include Italian cabinetry, polished-stone countertops with stainless sinks and Kitchen Aid appliances. Baths include stone vanity tops, shower and tub walls and floors. The master bathrooms feature spa tubs and separate showers.
W Fort Lauderdale will include a restaurant, an oceanfront infinity-edge pool, a cocktail lounge, grand ballroom, 15,000 square feet of meeting facilities, fitness center and a spa.
