Divorce is hard even under the best circumstances, and when division of assets requires selling properties such as the family home, it can be even more difficult. As a real estate divorce specialist for almost 15 years, Lou Rodriguez comes prepared with not only the patience and empathy the sale requires but also the facts, data and expertise to do the job.
Living by the tagline, “It’s how I do what I do that sets me apart,” Rodriguez considers himself a master of his craft. “That means that when I show up to a listing appointment, I am coming with receipts, data and analysis that brings clarity to the home-selling process, which brings calm, which keeps the transition moving smoothly,” he explains. In service of his goal is to make the situation better for all parties, he doesn’t double-end commissions.
Describing his role as part therapist and part shoulder to lean on, Rodriguez strives to communicate authenticity to his clients and maintains his position as a true neutral in divorce-related transactions. “As you can imagine, this niche takes advanced training,” he shares, citing skills such as conflict resolution and expertise in active listening, “but none of that would work without the empathy, compassion and humanity I show when I work high-conflict divorce cases. It’s why you need to be a centered person.”
With a business built primarily on referrals from clients and family law professionals, Rodriguez is an affiliate member of both the Broward County Matrimonial Lawyers Group and the Florida Bar, where he serves on the Equitable Distribution Committee for the family law section. He earned a Seven-Star Certificate from Broker/Agent Advisor in 2024.
