A 20-story luxury residential building in East Edgewater is 60 percent sold, and is ahead of construction schedule, according to a recent press release.

More than half of the 90 units inside The Crimson, a waterfront project of Mckafka Development Group, are sold, including five of six luxurious penthouses.

International Sales Group (ISG), The Crimson’s exclusive sales and marketing firm, said in the release that sales increased in recent months, and much of the demand stems from Latin American countries like Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, and Mexico.

The Crimson offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences, penthouses, and town homes, the release said. The penthouse includes a summer kitchen, private hot tub, and outdoor terrace.

Aside from luxury, residents of The Crimson can expect an energy-efficient home. The Crimson is LEED silver certified. Each residence comes with a water meter, so owners can control and monitor usage. The Crimson employs variable refrigerant flow (VRF), a Japanese technology that results in low-energy, high-efficient cooling for the residences. The Crimson is bike-friendly, and it supplies charging stations for electric cars.

Craig Studnicky, principal of ISG, said in the release that the development team expects sales to pick-up in coming months.

“As Edgewater’s community has come to fruition, sales in the area have picked up,” Studnicky said.  “We are confident that sales will continue to escalate for the development over the next couple of months.”
