Davie-based Real Estate Authority merged with Charles Rutenberg Realty Fort Lauderdale. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

Charles Rutenberg’s parent company, Dallas-based United Real Estate, described the merger as a strategic transaction that will bring in new talent and expand its market share in South Florida. 

“We have been growing very well in the region, even in the face of a persistent, challenging market,” United President Rick Hasse said in a press release. “[Real Estate Authority Founder Michael Brownell] and his agents add more growth fuel to the operation. Most importantly though, we will be able to deploy all our tools, services and supports to all of his agents to help them grow and prosper.” 

As part of the deal, Brownell will become talent attraction specialist for Charles Rutenberg. In his new role, he will use his recruiting experience, market knowledge and “broad sphere of influence” to bring new talent to Charles Rutenberg and further solidify its presence in the South Florida market, United said. 

“This union creates a unique opportunity to enhance the services and support offered to my 60 agents by tapping into the vast resources of [Charles Rutenberg]’s parent company, United Real Estate,” Brownell said. “My top priority is to ensure that my agents have access to world-class education, coaching, technology and brokerage support so they can excel in their field.”
