Santa’s North Pole cabin listed for $1.18M

by Liz Hughes

Santa’s North Pole cabin listing is back on Zillow, and this year you can take an interactive tour of the property with some help from artificial intelligence (AI).

And just like homes across the country, Santa’s continues to increase in value. It’s now worth an estimated $1.18 million, according to Zillow, up  last year and $1,031,401 in 2021.

As in previous years, families can take a virtual 3D tour of the Clauses’ North Pole cabin, but this year they can do it with a twist and can view an AI-generated floor plan, along with larger, higher-resolution images of spaces not shared previously, including Santa’s mailroom and gift wrapping suite.

Perhaps the increase in value is not just market-driven. The Clauses made some festive upgrades over the past year, including a custom elf door, a hot cocoa bar and a naughty or nice detector. Also new this year is a virtual treasure hunt where visitors can search for more than a dozen holiday items throughout the cabin.

Not to worry, Zillow home trends expert Amanda Pendleton says Santa and Mrs. Claus are not selling their beloved home.

“The Clauses wanted to spread joy this holiday season by adding new photos and virtual experiences to their home details page on Zillow,” she said. “This immersive technology makes it easy to imagine the spicy, sugary scent of gingerbread fresh out of Santa’s cookie-baking oven, the nostalgic sounds of classic Christmas carols crackling on the record player and the comfort of sliding into a pair of well-worn slippers warmed by the fire.”

Zillow’s Listing Showcase created the interactive version of Santa’s house, giving viewers a better sense of the layout and offering easy navigation.

“Listing Showcase uses AI to select scrolling images based on what home shoppers want to see,” Zillow said. “AI then organizes and matches the photos to their corresponding rooms, and embeds those images into a clickable floor plan so home shoppers know exactly where each photo was taken.”

Santa’s North Pole cabin and state-of-the-art toy workshop are housed on 25 acres and were originally built in 1822, with renovations completed in 2013. The property features multiple 150-square-foot cottages, Santa’s toy workshop, stables for the reindeer and a garage for Santa’s sleigh.

The Clauses first claimed their Zillow listing in 2016 and today it’s one of the company’s most visited off-market homes. So far it’s brought in more than 3 million views.

Visitors can view the listing and even take the tour by visiting zillow.com/house/santas-house.
