The National Association of REALTORS® awarded Kasia Maslanka, a Realtor at Douglas Elliman in Fort Lauderdale, one of its five Good Neighbor Awards for 2023.
A 10-year veteran of the industry, Maslanka co-founded Morningday Community Solutions to redirect overstocked and excess merchandise from landfills to nonprofit organizations and people in need. Since its founding over 13 years ago, the organization has saved nonprofits $10 million in spending and diverts over 500 tons of unused products from landfills annually.
“As we honor this year’s Good Neighbor Awards recipients, we are reminded of the broader purpose that unites us in the real estate profession,” NAR President Tracy Kasper said in a press release. “Beyond sales and contracts, it’s the people, stories and shared dreams that matter. These winners are making a difference in communities and improving lives, underlining the true spirit of community engagement.”
Maslanka, along with her fellow Good Neighbor Award recipients, will receive a $10,000 grant for her charity as well as a feature in the fall 2023 issues of REALTOR® Magazine.
