The National Association of REALTORS® announced the finalists for its 2023 Good Neighbor Awards, which recognize NAR members who give back to their communities through philanthropy and volunteer work. Douglas Elliman Realtor Kasia Maslanka of Fort Lauderdale was identified as one of 10 finalists.
Maslanka is the co-founder of Morningday Community Solutions, which redirects overstock or excess retail merchandise to nonprofits or people in need. Since the company’s founding over 13 years ago, Maslanka and her team have saved nonprofit organizations $9 million in spending and redirected over 400 tons of products from landfills.
Five winners will receive $10,000 grants and exposure for their charity, while five honorable mentions will receive $2,500 grants. The public can also vote for Web Choice Favorites, of which the top-three vote earners will receive a cash prize.
Voting is now open through Oct. 1 at realtor.com/goodneighbor. Winners, as decided by judges and Web Choice Favorites, will be announced on Oct. 5.
