by Patrick Regan

Airbnb recently analyzed its top U.S. destinations for long-term guests and hosts, based on affordability, hospitality, popularity and other factors, and Delray Beach made the list.

Delray Beach is the No. 2 city in the analysis for average host income in the first quarter of 2022. The top five: La Quinta, California; Delray Beach; Marco Island; Palms Springs, California, and Indio, California.

The list of most hospitable cities — based on the percentage of five-star reviews among long-term renters — included Key West, which was No. 4 at 90.2%. Bend, Oregon, was No. 1 at 93.7%.

Airbnb’s most popular cities for long-term rentals in the first quarter of the year were, in order, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Houston and Seattle.

The study also cited Irvine, California, as the destination with the highest share of long-term stay listings and Tulalip, Washington, about 40 miles north of Seattle, as the most affordable community in the nation for nomadic living at an average of $16.90 per night.
