Florida is home to the fifth most expensive ZIP code in the United States, according to a new PropertyShark report. The annual report ranks the 100 priciest ZIP codes in the U.S.
Communities were ranked by closed home sales between Jan. 1 and Oct. 22. Atherton, Calif., took the No. 1 spot with a median sale price of $7.47 million.
The only Florida ZIP code to make the list this year was Miami Beach’s 33109, the highest-ranking zip code for the Sunshine State since 2017.
The annual report saw record-setting numbers for 2021, with the 10 priciest U.S. ZIP codes now sporting median sales prices of $4 million and up. The 10 most expensive ZIP codes were claimed by Florida, California, Massachusetts, New York and Washington.
Homes in Miami Beach rose 66% year over year to a $4,475,000 median sale price, propelling the 33109 ZIP code from No. 23 to No. 5, according to the report. This was the third-sharpest increase among the country’s 100 leading ZIP codes.
