Of the top 100 richest places to live in America, four are in Florida — including two in Miami-Dade County. The list, compiled by Bloomberg, takes into account data from the 2016 U.S. Census to determine the wealthiest spots for Americans.
While last year’s Bloomberg analysis required a minimum annual income of around $190,000 to live comfortably in the communities on the list, this year’s analysis estimates a required salary of about $200,000.
Key Biscayne, Florida, ranked No. 76 on the list, with an average household income of $215,281 in 2016, which was down $1,026 (0.5 percent) from $216,307 in 2015.
Just behind Key Biscayne was the other Miami-area town on the list — coming in at No. 77, Pinecrest, Florida had an average household income of $213,185 in 2016. The average 2016 income for Pinecrest increased $11,910 (5.9 percent) from $201,275 in 2015.
- No. 27: Palm Beach, in Palm Beach County, with an average 2016 household income of $267,031 — an increase of $15,814 (6.3 percent) from $251,217 in 2015.
- No. 45: Indian River Shores, in Indian River County, with a 2016 average household income of $246,669 — a decrease of $25,341 (9.3 percent) from $272,010 in 2015.
