In September, Colombia once again topped all foreign countries searching www.miamire.com for South Florida real estate, according to new data from the Miami Association of Realtors (MIAMI). Colombia has remained at the top of MIAMI’s list for 10 consecutive months.

South America’s interest in South Florida

Miami’s modern and outdoor lifestyle has made it America’s top international destination, said Mark Sadek, the 2016 MIAMI Chairman of the Board. “We are seeing an increasing number of nationalities and ethnicities purchasing property and starting businesses in our modern, multicultural city.”

As the below table shows, four out of the top five countries that visited miamire.com in September are South American – Colombia (No. 1), Brazil (No. 3), Venezuela (No. 4) and Argentina (No. 5). According to the 2015 Profile of International Home Buyers in Miami Association of Realtors Business Areas, the four South America countries purchased 45 percent of all foreign South Florida real estate transaction.
