Housing “Disturbia” for Rihanna

by admin

Rihanna is making sure two real estate firms know her name with a lawsuit.

Pop star Rihanna is a good girl gone bad – at least when Beverly Hills real estate is concerned.

The chart-topping singer is suing Prudential California Realty, the company that sold her a 10,000-square-foot mansion for $6.9 million in 2009, for structural defects that have left the project uninhabitable.

The most prominent defect, according the lawsuit, came from heavy storms in January 2010 that caused water leaks and damage in several rooms of the house – a heavily ironic development for the singer of “Umbrella.”

The lawsuit then claims that Prudential knowingly sold the home with the defects, and that the company failed to perform due diligence on the property. In addition, Rihanna is suing Landmark Design Group, the company she hired to remodel the property in 2007 and 2008.

Neither firm has commented on the lawsuit.
