Hollo Presents $75,000 to School’s HealthCorps Program

by admin

Florida East Coast Realty’s (FECR) chairman Tibor Hollo recently presented a $75,000 check to principal Dr. Nick JacAngelo of Miami’s Coral Park Senior High School. The funds will benefit the school’s HealthCorps program, which educates high school students on nutrition, fitness and mental resilience.

The event brought out representatives from HealthCorps, the Miami-Dade superintendent’s office and Miami-Dade Public Schools.

Hollo’s donation is aimed at empowering often neglected student populations most affected by obesity and obesity-related diseases and will contribute to HealthCorps’ goal to expand into new national markets. The program is already established nationwide, and the State of Florida is gaining momentum after HealthCorps established the curriculum in Palm Beach County. Hialeah High School in Miami is slated to receive a check to benefit HealthCorps. It is the first Miami-Dade County school to participate in HealthCorps’ program.

Founded by Dr. Mehmet Oz, HealthCorps is a non-profit organization that educates high school students on nutrition, fitness and mental resilience. HealthCorps delivers its preventative health education curriculum through in-school seminars, school-wide activities, community activities and guest lecturers.
