The Realtors Commercial Alliance of Greater Miami and the Beaches (RCA) has elected Tom Byrne of Esslinger, Wooten, Maxwell Inc. as their 2008 President. He and the entire Board of Governors were recently installed at The Country Club of Coral Gables.
Byrne is with Esslinger, Wooten, Maxwell’s Commercial Division and is a native of Miami. He joined EWM in 1998 with the merger of his family’s 25-year-old real estate firm, Byrne-Rinehart & Co., which he had operated for the previous 10 years. Byrne serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Realtors and the National Associations of Realtors. His state and national involvement include past chair of the Board Leadership Forum and appointments to the RCA Committee, the Legislative Committee, the Commercial & Investment Committee, the Federal Housing Committee, the Realtor / Attorney Committee and the Membership Issues Work Group. He is also a candidate for Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and a member of the Real Property Section of the Florida Bar.
Locally, Byrne is the immediate past president of the Commercial Industrial Association of South Florida (F/K/A Industrial Association of Dade County), past Director for Habitat for Humanity, the immediate President of Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore operations in Miami-Dade County, a director of the Jerome Baine Educational Foundation, an occasional basketball coach and an adjunct professor at Florida International University teaching real estate law to undergraduates each spring.
Byrne is a licensed Florida attorney, with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami, a Masters in Finance from Florida International University and a degree in Economics and Real Estate from Florida State University.
