Enhancing South Florida’s global exposure at major international real estate conferences

by Teresa King Kinney

Miami will always be global.

It is in our DNA. It is who we are. It is what we believe.

Miami welcomes all countries, all cultures. There is no other U.S. city with more foreign-born residents and more people who speak a language other than English.

At the MIAMI Association of REALTORS® (MIAMI), global is at the core of our mission. Working together, learning from each other and expanding global networks benefits all. We believe in creating global business for our distinguished 260 global partners and for our members, their clients, their listings, our market and our incredible communities.

Two YPN Global Congresses on two continents

MIAMI REALTORS® has been enhancing South Florida’s global exposure by exhibiting at major international conferences for 30+ years. This year alone, MIAMI achieved an incredible feat. We hosted two Young Professional Network (YPN) Global Congresses in two different continents: Feb. 27-29 in Dubai, UAE, and June 20-21 in Valencia, Spain.

We saw a need in the marketplace last year and created YPN Global (the first real estate association in the world to do so) to not only create top conferences for young, career-focused real estate professionals but to help them with global networking opportunities. Young professionals are our future.

In February, we partnered with the International Property Show (IPS) to host our second YPN Global Congress in Dubai. The MIAMI leaders and their honored guests spoke as speakers and panelists as part of the YPN Global Congress program in front of a full Congress ballroom. Attendees then had free entrance to IPS, the largest property sales platform in the Middle East held immediately after the YPN Congress.

In June, we partnered with the Spanish International Realty Alliance (SIRA) to host the YPN Global Congress in Valencia, Spain. Attendees then attended Inmociónate 2024, the largest real estate event in the Spanish-speaking world for a day and a half of education, business and networking.

Additionally, we exhibited and presented at TRREB REALTOR® Quest on May 15-16 in Toronto for the second consecutive year. REALTOR® Quest is Canada’s largest real estate conference and trade show. Our presence at these elite events creates global business opportunities for our valued partners and members while enhancing South Florida’s global exposure.

MIAMI Global Real Estate Congress to bring together 15+ countries

MIAMI will host its 27th MIAMI Global Real Estate Congress on Nov. 3-5, this time at our new global headquarters (1800 Oakwood Drive, Miami). Attendees can stay next door at the beautiful boutique EB Hotel.

The MIAMI Congress will feature luncheons and receptions, powerful speakers addressing global real estate trends and opportunities, and networking with international delegates from approximately 15 countries. South Florida is the top market for international buyers in the U.S., and MIAMI, the largest local Realtor association in the U.S., was the first association recognized by NAR with the Platinum Award for Global Achievement

Foreign delegations are invited to present International Market Spotlights to other attendees during the Congress opening event on Sunday, Nov. 6.

SHAME ON REALTORS FOR THEIR LEGAL PUMP-AND-DUMP SCAM: Miami real estate is 40%+ overvalued (if not more) and the scramble to “highlight” how “amazing” Miami is for investment in real estate is beyond laughable – its shameful!

Miami is: Overbuilt. Overpriced. Overrated. Infrastructure Deficient. Unplanned. Unsafe. And worst of all, Miami is about to implode as there are more foreclosures, evictions and defaults in HOA payments than there has ever been in Miami’s real estate history. The ONLY people selling and pushing this smoke-and-mirrors hype and bill-of-goods are the REALTORS who prey off of people’s hard-earned dollars so they can “…get that commission” to make their next Porsche or Mercedes lease or rent payment because they own nothing and live (temporarily) high-on-the-hog off of the sweat of Buyers’ hard work. Shame on Realtors! 6% commission for what? Signing a listing agreement and PRAYING someone else will sell it? SHAME!!! No wonder why you don’t need to have gone to school to be a realtor. Realtors are no better than the thugs scamming you for your money on the streets… Hey Realtors: GET REAL JOBS AND STOP PREYING ON PEOPLE AND THEIR HOMES!!!! Oh, and your high-dollar car payment and waterfront apartment lease is coming due soon. GET A RESPECTABLE JOB AND STOP TRYING TO BE AND KEEP -UP WITH THE JONES’!!!
